Marina Melillo is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology through Rutgers University. She completed her Master's of Science work in School Counseling through Monmouth University. In addition, she also received her Student Assistance Coordinator Certification (SAC) from Monmouth University. The SAC certification taught her how to address substance abuse issues, social and emotional issues, and behavioral problems.
Marina is currently a School Counselor for kindergarten through second grade students. She has experience working with all different aged children in areas such as anxiety, coping skills, divorce, life changes, etc.
She also worked as an assistant teacher at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center, a school for children with Autism. Here she gained experience implementing the fundamentals of Applied Behavioral Analysis, and gained valuable skills working with students in special education.
Marina utilizes a person-centered approach where she takes time to truly connect and build a strong foundation with the client. She leans on empathy, mindfulness, and collaboration with the client to provide a successful counseling experience.
