Meet Your Doula

Courtney Rein is a Certified Postpartum Doula. She has been supporting families and children for many years. She received her Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from Montclair State University. Courtney has worked with mothers and their children while working for WIC and Child Care Resources. In this role she was teaching breastfeeding classes and providing nutrition education to mothers and childcare providers.

While working at the Healthstart prenatal clinic she was part of a team that provided support, nutrition and lactation education to pregnant women. Throughout her position at Monmouth Medical Center as a Newborn Hearing Screen Co-coordinator she educated parents and performed hearing screenings on newborn babies on the mother/baby unit as well as in the NICU. She gained knowledge of infant swaddling and sleep patterns while working as a baby nurse with CalmbabyRN. During this time she became a trained birth doula and went on to become a Certified Postpartum Doula and infant feeding specialist. As a doula she works with families to ease the transition into parenthood. Doulas provide support for families in many ways.

She has experience with one baby as well as multiples. Depending on the need, she is there to support you. It could be emotional support for mom and/or nurturing care for your newborn. She can offer bathing, swaddling, soothing techniques, and also let you get some much needed rest. Courtney is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and is currently pursuing her IBCLC designation. She can provide guidance for nursing parents and help with latch and positioning. Courtney is a mom of four children. She has experienced "normal" births as well as an emergency cesarean birth. She has empathy for new families especially during the fourth trimester of pregnancy and is available to provide non judgmental support to you as you find your way into this new role of motherhood.
